I like instant Folgers.
When I was on long training missions I would cut a tea bag and replace the tea with coffee. Then put the coffee filled bag under my tongue.
ahhhh .. good times .. good times.

Hahahaha. Army chew? Haven't seen that in years, but yeah, it definitely did the job.
On topic? Starbucks triple espresso with one shot of pure chocolate. The best shit on earth.

I recommend having a full day planned. It will definitely wire you up for hours on end.
If you like sweet, add a caramel shot.

Definitely! I go to the gym every day, and I do the curvesmart program where a machine tells you how hard you have to push yourself to stay in the green zone.. and it KILLS me. Im gonna use that to wire myself up to have the energy to do it, lol.

I'm boycotting Starbucks because clearly the company is run by an uppity, pretentious, swaggering, dolt of a social whore.
Ok, not really. But, I heard it was actually company policy that their cashiers are not allowed to accept "small" as a coffee order. They actually instruct their employess that if the customer asks for a small, they have to correct the customer by responding "Do you mean a Grande?"
(Grande has apparently taken the place of small at Starbucks.)
I havent been in a Starbucks in forever, so maybe one of you can confirm or lay this rumor to rest. If it's true though? I wont shop there. I don't care how good the shit is. I'm not calling a small a Grande, just on principal.

You better be careful! Those are FATBOMBS. Yummy but dangerous.
I gave up on those milky creamy treats syrupy drinks.
To answer your question, I usually order the Coffee of the Day, hot and small.
They have some pretty nifty exotic brands and tasty.

HAHA! I thought I was the only one that noticed it, so you are correct. They advertise everything BUT the small.

And there in lies why they can take their coffee and shove it up their stuck-up asses.
When you're selling million dollar diamond necklaces?..THEN you can be a little snotty. But coffee? Pfft...go fuck yourself. It's hot water passed through crushed beans. All the pretense in the world won't make it more than that.
Get real.

I've passed them thousands of times. Never been in one, though.
I'll make my own coffee, thank you very much. Not that I'd even have a clue how to order a goddamned simple cup of coffee in that damn place anyway.

I've never been to Starbucks. I have heard their coffee is shit.
I've been to Gloria Jeans though (I think its an Australian store only) but their cappuccinos are absolutely fabulous.
Oh god.. I want one now. So thick and creamy and yummy. *drools*

Starbucks Asia. I have two stock invested with Starbucks Japan. Doubled in value in just two days. They are growing like wild fire here. Think China.

There is a bit of a quiet revolution taking place, mainly by the women of all sources.
I like to label it, The Coffee Revolution. It is no longer being seen as a luxury as it once was. Though still a bit of a snob appeal and the elders prefer green tea over the bean, the youth and the sophisticates like to see themselves as being imbibers of things Western.
China is next on the list. I will bet within our life time, the country will be more capitalist than Maoist, but that is for another thread.

When Starbucks opened in Japan, stocks went up about 4% initially if I recall right, but have steadily climbed to something like a 15% increas long t erm.
They go into China the way they have Japan, I predict another 20% or more increase.
I sort of figured it was the younger generation with coffee as I have yet to meet a Japanese elder who drinks the stuff, preferring green tea or that, ginko black?

I go because I like the taste of the non-coffee drinks.
That's a good enough reason for me.
<---pregnant = no coffee for a suki
<---when not pregnant = spazz (thus and therefore)= no coffee for a suki
starbuck's (and wawa and what's that pannini place called?) can pack sand.

Hehehe...
I get a Grande soy Caramel Macchiato. Eagan likes the apple juice.
On a weird sort of side note though... I found that if you only give a kid water for about a week and then let him have two glasses of juice... he'll explode out the backside for about a day. At the park, all over the sidewalk, no less.
This, of course, required that I return to Starbucks for more coffee. :10_003:

I'm banned from any and all caffeine containing items (including chocolate. fuckers.)...
caffeine is like fucking crack for me...and the last thing I want is to birth a mutant.
there is NO soda, coffee, chocolate, hot chocolate or even fruit juices allowed in this house. the sugar and caffeine drive us all nutso.
if the kid wants fruit juice...we cut up a pineapple and mango and juice 'em.
needless to say...that's alot of work and happens like 4 times a year.
I bet she drinks 3 chocolate milks a day at school, though :yociexp34:

Because I'm pregnant, I really shouldn't - but I stay under the max allowance per day (or at least try to).
When I'm not prego, caffeine just puts me in a better mood. For some reason, it doesn't make me all wiry. I can drink 3-4 cups of coffee back to back and then just go to bed.

Everything I've read or heard from my OB is that it just increases the risk of preterm labor/miscarriage because it's a stimulant.
Honestly, I don't know how I'd make it through a week without it. I have my super duper active, interested, defiant toddler. I have a parasite dragging me down and making me anemic. I have a move to prepare for. I have diapers to make and wash. And I have the general maintenance of the house to keep up with.
I start to go a little psycho, have a cup of coffee, zone out for a couple minutes, and then I'm okay to go back to work.

THAT sucks. I absolutely love grapefruit and cranberry juice... and coffee :D

shit. I'm so scared that karma's going to kick my ass for all the retard jokes that I'm WAY uptight about everything I eat/drink/smell, etc. I flipped on a kid the other day for spraying cologne in my classroom.
I mean FLIPPED. I should try to relax...

you should cut back, me thinks. I'm sure it'll be rough, but you type alot about how you haven't slept much or for a long while. sleep deprivation just exacerbates stress.

sounds to me like you need to chill, sista. you should see my house right now. TRASHED. I have a photographer (well...had) coming today to shoot the house for listing...and I just left him a message that I had a long weekend and am unmotivated. the closest he's coming to this place with his camera bag is the point where my dogs are willing to chase him to.
I just don't give a fuck about the non-essentials...and some of the essentials, as a matter of fact. we've been out of milk for two days, but we've still got veggies and meat so I'm laying low and giving my pajamas some much deserving QT.
lazy? probably.
much deserved rest? you betcha.
I'm one of those peeps that needs ALOT of downtime.
I've gotten pretty good at taking it over the last 12 years. one nervous breakdown per lifetime'll do it for me, thanks. I busted my ass through college and the beginnings of grad school as a single mom doing it all.
to hell with that. give me a smaller house, cheaper car, simpler lifestyle...
and a comfy rocking chair.
let the movers and shakers worry about everything else.
I've got chillin' to do.

I see your point, but when I'm having trouble with the sleep schedule, I don't drink any coffee at all. Ha. I even cut out coffee for a week and took "safe" for prego sleeping pills. Nothin'.
However, lately, the kid hasn't been sick and the hub has been making an effort not to be a dick :)
So... I, along with the sprout, are on normal sleep schedules now. I'm not nearly as crazy.

Oh, I'd love to just sit around sewing diapers like an old granny with her knitting.. TRUST me. There is just too much to do. I'm moving in a month and still have half my furniture and almost all my clothes to sell. I still have to sort, pack, prepare for Spot, etc. There is just no way.
I'll relax when I get to Alaska and can guilt my mom into forcing my brothers to watch Eagan so I can sleep, sew, look for apartments, set up my native shit, etc.
*hops up and down* I can't WAIT!

I I don`t mind Starbucks coffee, but really the only time I ever frequent it is when it`s in a grocery store where they have their own little spot.I usually go for the dark roast with a shot of expresso and no flavor.
I like milk in my coffee, but with this,I intend for it to be strong,so I put nothing in it.
