The organizations I was referring to are the ones that supposedly, control the world. The ones that we do know about that have a say in most governments of the world. And make decisions for us behind closed doors.

The question I'm asking is, do you beleive that such organizations exist or do we actually have all the power we beleive we do? Do we elect the presidents of our county, or is it done for us?

To control the world you need total power. You would need and army capable of destroying anything and anyone without ever being at risk, a single leader who was able to answer to all things yet be just in the majority of the peoples eyes.

The other way is to forum a shadow syndicate. To have high people in every country, so that you may influence differnt choices that you deem important.

The first is called a tyranitical dictator ship, the second is called politics. The problem is its human nature to want the power for yourself, because you honestly believe you could do a better job, that your vision is the right one. So you take it. it's why no corperation or person could ever take over the world, as soon as microsoft became a threat, it got taken out by a colliation. Meaning a group of people who had a combined power greater then microsoft decided they didnt like microsoft having more power then them, and eventually it would over take them.

I think the limit to secret orginizations is the who cares factor. No one gives a shit about black ops in solmalia. No one gives a shit if a few civ's are killed or a few documents lost or destroyed. These tend to get exposed if it is

A. A cause that people believe in or start beliving in
B. The group went after something that holds more power then them (IE the constitution, a certin person, etc)
C. The powers backing them either leave or are over powered.
D. The try to change there initial goals.

The last one is the most interesting. Carl Jung wrote 'Mass manipulation is egoism raised to an inconceavable power for its goal is imanent and non transending.' Which dumass can translate as once you manipulate any group of individiduals, you must have a fixed goal, a constant threat, and you have to get everyone to believe its for the best. If anyone of these is removed, you end up watching the group fall. Through lazyness, no clear purpose, or lack of caring. The main problem is if you decide to change your goal, you have to change everyones beliefs, establish a new constant threat, and distinguish the old one, and then create a fixed goal that is better then the other one to the group.

In short humans have 2 natural barriers to this. One, we transcend and change and evolve on a daily basis. You can change to fall more inlove with these ideals or less in love with this idea's, or you can find something completely new. The other is we reason. Look at the KKK right now. Go to there website. They destroyed there own originization by trying to change the purpose to a 'love' aspect of racisim. Now the old KKK members are saying 'dude wtf', and the new kkk members are saying 'umm why does everyone hate us'. The only way to get around this dogma is to create a new originzation with no real ties to the previous one.

It's not the information age that prevents this stuff, its that it speeds it up much faster. Because we are able to gain access to information which helps us reason faster.

We are a replublic first off. Second, whenever you allow free trade, you allow company's to gain more power then the country itself, hence why we arn't really a completely capitalistic society. Instead we put limits on these companys. However whenever the balance tips either way, we feel it. In other words, bush's oil company was a big influence in the Iraq war. We didnt get alot of power in the election because alot of companys and people pushed for him to stay president. Mainly because it made them money.
